Inside Music Today April 20 Show

All of us at IMT are excited.  We want to thank Mike Vagnoni from Out On The Town Entertainment Guide for featuring a very wonderful article about Inside Music Today in his April issue.  A big thank you to Dr. Lou for using his time and talents to write about our program.  We are very blessed to have Mike and Lou offering their assistance, so more talented artists will be aware of the opportunities IMT can offer.  Thank you so much!

We are featuring on this week’s show The Count Josephine Band.  John Carr has been a little under the weather, so I’m hoping his band being on IMT will make him feel a bit better.  We will be seeing John in the not too distant future, since he has agreed to be a part of our 19th anniversary show.  John, it will be so good to see you again!

We also have John Cantamessa back.  I know our media consultant, Barb, will be glad of that!  Dave Weber and his lovely wife, Donna Delany have returned, as have Box of Roxx.  This is a great line-up of talent!

Next week we have a concept video from Angel Casiano.  Then we feature some of the acts we taped just this week at the Bucks County Open Mic Night, this time from Dave & Buster’s.  John Monzo had a new song for us, as did Lou Kramer with back-up by Firecracker Betty.  Rounding out the show, a rap performance from Diverse Character.  Thank you to Howard Durann for inviting us to come out to Dave & Buster’s to capture some more new talent.  We’ll have more from that evening on the May 4th show.

If you’re making plans for Cinco de Mayo, please consider coming out to our first acoustic In Concert Road Show at the Shamrock Pub, 2nd & Reed St., Center City, Philly.  We’ve planned a fun night of music with some really cool surprises.  Come join in the fun Sunday, May 5 from 5pm to 9pm.

We’ve added some bands to the 19th Anniversary Concert.  Joining Volt, Half Daze, No Commitment and If All Else Fails on June 8 will be The Count Josephine Band, Dr. Lou and the Privileged Few and Liquid Island. It will be a great day at Croft Farm in Cherry Hill, NJ.  Plus you know if Bill is in charge, there will be even more surprises!  So save the date for this FREE concert!

I think this is everything to date.  Hope everyone has a chance to get out and enjoy this upcoming weekend and this week’s show!

Our sponsors rock! Be sure to thank them by patronizing their businesses, and remember to tell them you heard about them on Inside Music Today!

Inside Music Today April 13 Show

This week’s TV show features a band from England, The Black Feathers.  I am so grateful we were invited by Dr. Lou to record Ray & Sian at Dr. Lou’s Place on Easter Sunday.  They are a wonderfully talented duo and great people.  You won’t want to miss this show and their incredible harmony.  Plus in the interview, you’ll love the British accents!

We also have a message song from our producer Bill with Artisan, warning to not drink & drive.  Then we will get you in the mood for our upcoming anniversary concert with a new song from No Commitment.  Yes, Bill has decided to turn the concert with 4 young bands into our 19th Anniversary Concert!  And the date is June 8, exactly 19 years to the day of the first Inside Music Today broadcast!  With the assistance of Mark Oberstaedt, one of the dads of the No Commitment band, we have secured Croft Farm in Cherry Hill, NJ for the venue.  Thank you Mark for all your help.  This would not be a reality without you!

Our April 20th show has performances by Count Josephine BandJohn CantamessaDave Weber with Donna DelanyBox of Roxx and Dr. Lou & the Privileged Few.

Be sure to patronize our sponsors who help keep original local music on the air!

Inside Music Today April 6 Show and Open Mic Update

Info about the Acoustic Road Show at the Shamock Pub and upcoming concerts in June will have to wait until next week.

But we do have a great show this week featuring Dr. Lou, Nicki Sbaffoni, Mike Rocket and Artisan.

Next week’s performances include a duo we were able to tape from Dr. Lou’s stage on Easter Sunday, The Black Feathers.  Ray and Sian are from England and we were so happy to meet them and capture their fantastic harmonies for Inside Music Today.  We’ve also included an interview with questions for Ray and Sian from Bill and Dr. Lou.

The other band on next week’s show is No Commitment, taped just last night at Dr. Lou’s Place.  We had a great time and wish them Good Luck at the JAM Awards.  It is really wonderful to watch these young artists as they grow and mature within the music business.  They will be a part of one of the concerts we are planning for June.  But there will be more info on that next week.

One thing that has become definite is our next Bucks County Open Mic Night date and location.  Wednesday, April 17th is the date and this will be our first TV taping at Dave & Buster’s, 1995 Franklin Mills Circle, Philadelphia.  Come on out and enjoy the great entertainment for the TV taping and join in for the open mic if you’re there early enough to sign up.  E-mail us if you need further info.

Thank you to everyone who watches and participates in Inside Music Today.  This is a growing musical family and it’s great to see everyone supporting and helping each other in so many ways. Thanks also to our sponsors who keep original local music on the air!

Inside Music Today March 30 Show

It has been a happy week here at IMT since the weather is getting slightly warmer, which indicates spring is coming!  But what makes us happier is all the positive responses we have received concerning the In Concert Road Shows that we have started to plan.  We are putting finishing touches on the acoustic show at the Shamrock Pub and just in the beginning stages of  planning the show for our young bands, No Commitment, Volt, If All Else Fails and Half Daze.

Please keep your e-mails coming, in support of any of these upcoming shows.  Negotiations are in progress!

This week’s show takes us back to the Sunday Night Open Mic at Dr. Lou’s Place from a few week’s ago.  We have Mike & Flora performing a Flora Newberry song from that evening.  Mike & Flora will be one of the acts performing at the Shamrock Pub In Concert Road Show.  Then we have an original song by our producer Bill, featuring him with Artisan from a few years back.

Daddy Long Legs returns with a second song from the evening with Bucks County Open Mic Night at Pasquale’s.  Then we have an interview with Jimi Chanti and the newly finished concept video from Jimi Chanti and Nightspell 13.  Check out this video that highlights the talents of Bill & Rob’s editing skills!

Musicians, think about recording concept videos.  Just one other way to showcase your talents!

Next week’s show will feature Dr. Lou, Nicki Sbaffoni and Mike Rocket, plus some info about all the new things Dr. Lou has been pulling together. He’ll tell you about his new Sauce & Dressing and his new second location for Dr. Lou cuisine and radio show.  We wish him all the best with his additional new ventures!

We are also happy to say we will be back at Dr. Lou’s Place in Roebling this Sunday evening, March 31, around 7pm.  We are lucky to be catching an act from England and they are stopping by Dr. Lou’s on their tour.  Should be a fun TV taping evening, so stop on by!

Again, thank you to everyone for all the support you are giving Inside Music Today.  We are trying our best to provide some exciting “live” events for our talented musicians and our audience.  Please keep in touch and let us know what you would like.

Thanks for watching and have a Happy Easter!

Inside Music Today March 23 Show

We are very busy planning new events for the upcoming spring and summer seasons, including a show with our 4 young bands.  Thank you to everyone who has contacted us about the show we are working on, which will feature Volt, Half Daze, If All Else Fails and No Commitment.  We love hearing from you, so please keep your support coming!

On to this week’s show.  We are featuring the artists from the Bucks County Open Mic Night at Pasquale’s.  Lou Kramer opened the show with Firecracker Betty as back-up.  We have a song from Daddy Long Legs and then John Kelly and Dan Robbins from Of the Sea performed as a duo.  Our friend John Monzo came out to this open mic so we could hear another one of his tunes.  After hearing the fantastic guitar solos from Barry Bennedetta and Messenger, I found out Barry has toured with Ozzy Osbourne for several years.  Barry, we must have you back for an informative interview!

The March 30th show will feature our producer Bill performing one of his originals from when he was gigging with Artisan.  Written several years ago, this song is very relevant today.  Bill, we always knew you were ahead of your time!

Mike and Flora return with another new Flora Newberry song taped a few weeks back at their Sunday Night Open Mic at Dr. Lou’s Place.  If you enjoy Daddy Long Legs on this week’s show, you will be happy that they are returning March 30th also.

IMT is presenting the premiere of the recently finished concept video from Nightspell 13, complete with Bill’s interview with Jimi Chanti, Nightspell 13‘s composer, guitarist & producer.  The editing talents of Bill & Rob are displayed on this really cool video!

We want to congratulate Dr. Lou for the bottling of his Original Sauce & Dressing.  If you’ve ever had Dr. Lou’s wings or cheese steaks, you know you need to buy this sauce!

We appreciate Dr. Lou for being our longest running sponsor and wish him much continued success with Dr. Lou’s Place and his new Original Sauce & Dressing. We also appreciate all the bands he has provided for us from his open stage.  Watch the March 30th show and learn more about how to purchase Dr. Lou’s delicious and fantastic condiment!

The planning of our first IMT In Concert Road Show at the Shamrock Pub is coming together.  We should have finalized information by next week.  Thanks to everyone for hanging in there while we pull this all together.  It certainly is not easy!

Thanks for watching Inside Music Today and enjoy the weekend! Remember to patronize our sponsors and thank them for supporting Inside Music Today!

Inside Music Today March 2 Show

We are very sorry that IMT did not air this past Saturday.  The station has assured us that the show that should have aired February 23 will air this Saturday, March 2.  We do want to thank everyone who sent e-mails to WMCN.  We don’t think they have ever received so many e-mails about a program before.  We thank you for taking the time to let WMCN know how much our program means to our fans.  Thank you from all of us here at Inside Music Today!

We hope you will all tune in this week to enjoy the Flora Newberry song performed by Mike & Flora from Dr. Lou’s stage.  Also from the same evening we’re bringing you the relaxing devotional music sound of SiriOm Singh.

Then we cross the river to Center City and the Shamrock Pub for a Dr. Lou original.  On another evening we crossed the Burlington-Bristol Bridge to meet Howard Durann at Pasquale’s Bar & Restaurant and check out his Bucks County Open Mic Night.  That evening we recorded Mindless Hope and their unbelievable harmony guitar work and we have it right here for you on IMT!

On the March 9 show we’re presenting a song from our old friends The ‘Rents.  Then we travel back in time to an interview and performance from Crazy Raymond & the Watchdogs.  Don’t miss this fascinating interview from Raymond Tabano, who was a founding member of Aerosmith.  Listen and learn something about the music business.

This coming Wednesday evening, March 6, we will be back at Pasquale’s Bar & Restaurant, 9078 Mill Creek Rd., Levittown, PA with Howard Durann and his Bucks County Open Mic Night. Howard assures me he has a full night of entertainment set up.  So if you’re interested in getting out for an evening to enjoy some music and check out how we tape IMT, come on down!

We feel bad that we have made no forward progress on our first In Concert Road Show at the Shamrock Pub.  The week was spent negotiating with the TV station about the problem with the show not airing.  We will be back on track this week and have a finalized lineup and date by next week.

Again, a big thank you to all for your e-mails to WMCN.  We really appreciate the support given by all our artists, sponsors and fans.

Enjoy the weekend!

Inside Music Today February 23 Show and More!

We’ve had a busy week at IMT securing venues for upcoming In Concert Road Shows.  We have one committed venue and two in negotiations.  This takes a lot of time and energy; Bill has put a lot of effort into creating these shows.  We are still in the planning stages, but it is such a great feeling that years of our dreams are coming together!

We are also lucky that Bucks County Open Mic has given us a date for our first full TV taping of their artists.  We will be at Pasquale’s Bar & Restaurant, 9078 Mill Creek Rd., Levittown, PA on Wednesday, March 6 at 8 PM.  More info on this and other new ventures will be coming up next week. Sign up for our weekly email blast to make sure you don’t miss an update!

On to this week’s show.  From the Sunday-night Open Stage at Dr. Lou’s Place, we’re bringing you a Flora Newberry song performed by Mike & Flora.  From the same evening we have SiriOm Singh performing devotional world music.  Our cameraman Rob was totally enveloped by this sound, as was the audience at Dr. Lou’s that evening.

We have a song from Dr. Lou from the evening he performed at the Shamrock Pub in Philly.  The Shamrock Pub has committed to be the venue for our 1st acoustic In Concert Road Show and we should have a definite date by next week.  Our final band on this show, Mindless Hope, is the band we taped at Pasquale’s the night we met Howard Durann and his Bucks County Open Mic.  Don’t think you’ll see any better guitar work than this talented band!

The March 2 show format is a bit of a throwback to the early IMT shows.  We have used archival footage of an act from Boston that was performing in our area.  The band’s name is Crazy Raymond and the Watchdogs.  I think everyone will enjoy this interview, as Raymond reveals he was a founding member of Aerosmith.  Artists, listen to this story and learn!

We round out this show with our old friends The ‘Rents.  Tim, give us a call and get in on these upcoming In Concert Road Shows!

More to tell you next week about Dr. Lou’s famously delicious and recently bottled wing sauce.  If you’ve ever eaten at Dr. Lou’s, you know how great this sauce is!  You’ll want to know where and how to purchase this delectable condiment!  Plus next week, I’m sure I’ll have links for Bucks County Open Mic info, Dr. Lou’s sauce info and hopefully dates for upcoming In Concert Road Shows!

Have a great weekend and enjoy IMT !

Inside Music Today February 16 Show

Great show this week along with new IMT opportunities!  Ian O’Grady has had to wait the longest of everyone from the 5-artist night at Dr. Lou’s Place, but his week has finally arrived.  Thank you for your patience.  Ian will also be performing another original on our very first In Concert Road Show.  We have secured the Shamrock Pub in Center City Philly as our venue for our very first show.  The remaining line-up and date will be announced after they are all locked in.

Speaking of the Shamrock Pub, this week’s show features Dr. Lou performing one of his originals at that venue.  We also have a second song from Cory Walters and If All Else Fails.  We recorded so much music that night at Dr. Lou’s!  Filling out the show, we have archival footage featuring George Spicer and Dream Catcher.  Another fantastic night of music from the IMT early years.

Watch this show NOW on YouTube!

The February 23rd show is quite a mixture of music.  Definitely something for everyone!  On Sunday we headed over to Dr. Lou’s Place to enjoy the open mic night with Mike & Flora.  They were happy to perform some original tunes written by Flora and we are featuring one of those songs on this show.  Then unexpectedly their friend, SiriOm Singh, just happened to drop in on their open mic.  He entertained us with one of his world music originals that we just had to record.

We’ve been crossing the river a lot lately.  From a Sunday when Dr. Lou and friends performed at the Shamrock Pub, we have another Dr. Lou song.  Then just this past Wednesday, we crossed the Bristol Bridge and visited Pasquale’s Sports Bar.  We were supposed to record Angel Casiano, but he had laryngitis.  Angel, we hope you feel better!  So we hung out and met Howard Durann who had brought his Bucks County Open Mic to Pasquale’s.  We met many IMT fans and several artists that have been featured on the show.  Then we enjoyed quite an evening of entertainment.  Since we were prepared to record, some of the artists have been captured on our video.  The band that will be featured on this show is Mindless Hope.  Unbelievable harmony guitar work.  We are so happy to showcase them to our IMT fans.

As I’ve been saying since the new year, Inside Music Today is on the path to offer many new opportunities to our artists.  Our new In Concert Road Show and the Bucks County Open Mic are just two possibilities of which artists can be a part.  We will have more info about them both in upcoming blasts.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend and Inside Music Today! Click on the SPONSORS tab to see who’s keeping us on the air, bringing original music to the Delaware Valley.

Inside Music Today February 9 Show

Snowed in this evening? All the more reason to tune into IMT’s first show featuring just one band for the entire show.  Half Daze put on a very good show for us the night we taped at Dr. Lou’s Place and this week’s show gives you a chance to check out their great sound.  Bill was quite impressed by their female bass player. It took him back to his days in Artisan when Rosemary was on bass and sang her heart out.  This young band is quite talented and ready for this crazy business of music.  Be sure to tune in!

In case you missed it, we’ve got the whole show ready to view anytime on our YouTube channel!

The February 16 show brings us again to that evening at Dr. Lou’s Place.  We have a song from Ian O’Grady, who has agreed to be one of the acts on our new In Concert Road Show (more info on that in upcoming weeks).

A band that premiered on IMT last week, If All Else Fails, is returning with another song.  Cory Walters is back also from that night at Dr. Lou’s.  What a line-up of music we had that evening!

We traveled over to The Shamrock in Philly to catch Dr. Lou performing and hosting a great evening of music.  Even our producer Bill was up on stage joining in with Lou’s guests!  But on IMT, we are featuring Dr. Lou with one of his original tunes.

Then from our archives we went back to a really cool night at O’Hara’s in the early IMT days.  Dream Catcher brought a whole bus load of friends from PA with them to their TV taping.  Great country band and what a great following they had.  They sure knew how to impress the club owner and look good on TV!

Like I’ve been saying in the last few blasts, Inside Music Today has lots of new things in the works and our In Concert Road Show is just the start.  The first show will be an acoustic show.  So any acoustic artists interested in performing, give us a call.  Be a part of something new and different and very Inside Music Today!
