Inside Music Today August 18 Show

This week we should finally be able to view the performances from Hollystock!  I’m looking forward to seeing Volt and Liquid Island.  I missed their performances that day.

I was taping The Genies at the Blue Light Studio stage, while Rob was taping Volt and Liquid Island at the Hebe Music stage.  You see, I’m not in on the editing like Bill and Rob are.  So I have to wait until broadcast!  I just realized, I also missed out on Escape Plan.  I am also looking forward to seeing them for the first time!  How nice will it be to enjoy The Genies‘ performance in a quiet, dry environment, without standing in water to my ankles.  As you can detect, I’m really going to embrace this show!

Next week will be a wrap up of summer, featuring Blue Heather and Dan Casper from our anniversary concert, another song from Tommy Conwell at the Florence 4th of July celebration, plus Volt and The Late Ancients from the Hebe Music stage at Hollystock.

In taping The Late Ancients, again I’ll ask for your understanding as I did for The Genies footage. I was trying my best to shoot without a tripod, while Rob and Doug were using paper cups to catch the water coming through the tent down on my head.

Definitely a day that will never be forgotten!

I do hope you all enjoy the music we worked so very hard to bring to you.  It’s been quite a summer of new, different and interesting venues and so much new music!  This has got to be one of the best jobs in the world!

Tune in on August 18 at MIDNIGHT for original Hollystock performances by Volt, Liquid Island, The Genies and Escape Plan!

Our August 25 MIDNIGHT show will feature Sounds of Summer 2012 with tunes by Blue Heather, Tommy Conwell, Volt, Dan Casper and The Late Ancients, all taped at events this summer!

Inside Music Today August 4 Show

To anyone who may have made the trip to Hollystock last Saturday, I’m sure you are still drying out as we are.  It was such a shame the weather decided to keep to the weather of the original Woodstock.  Hollystock was a wonderfully-planned event, only to be slightly spoiled by the off and on downpours all day.

We taped as much as we could, until the tents we were under could no longer hold back the deluge.  Due to the sensitivity of the cameras to water, we were forced to leave.  But our hats are off to Main Street Mt. Holly for a well-planned and well-run event.  Thanks for the memory!

On to this week’s show.  We are lucky to have another song from Tommy Conwell at the Florence Patriotic Day.  Thanks to Throddle for being his back-up band that evening.  A job well done!

We return to the Record Collector for Lisa Bouchelle & Bob Burger.  Then it’s back in time for a song from Dave Weber.  That song, only one week old, was recorded right on our couch during an interview for the original IMT.  Talk about talent!  We’re looking forward to recording Dave’s new songs in a few weeks!  Can’t wait to see him again!  Also from the early days,  we have Sic Vikki and LeCompt.  This show has quite a line-up of talent!

Next week we’re taking you to our day at Hollystock featuring Volt, Liquid Island and The Escape Plan, from the Hebe Music Stage, and a song from The Genies, from the Blue Light Studio Stage.  I was able to capture The Genies playing acoustically under the tent, with the audience huddling beneath.  Even though the video doesn’t show it, it was pouring all around us.  I know because the water was running down my back off the edge of the tent!  So if the video is a little rough, please understand my challenge.

I hope you all tune in and check out this week’s line-up!  Enjoy this first weekend in August!
