Inside Music Today April 27 Show

It has been a very hectic week finalizing preparations for IMT‘s 1st acoustic In Concert Road Show.  We are also in the midst of preparations for the Croft Farm Rockfest ’13.  So it’s a bit crazy, tons of work and also fun.  But first a little info about this week’s show.

From our April 17th taping at Dave & Buster’s we are bringing you Lou Kramer with back-up by Firecracker Betty.  John Monzo has another original song for you this week that we taped on that evening. We also met rapper Diverse Character the same evening, and he is featured on this program.  Angel Casiano is part of the staff of Bucks County Open Mic Night and he gave us a copy of a concept video he had done recently and you will get to view it on this week’s show.

Next week we’re bringing you a second song from The Black Feathers from England.  Can’t wait to hear their beautiful harmonies once again.  Then we are back to the Dave & Buster’s taping with a song from Bob Pettiti and one from Great Blue Buddha.

I am asking all singers, musicians and friends to come out to the Shamrock Pub, 2nd & Reed St. in Center City, Philly, May 5, 5pm to 9pm.  Please come out and support our 1st acoustic In Concert Road Show.  If this is a success, that means more bands can be booked in more places.  IMT wants to show off all the talent that passes through the show.  We want to reach more audiences through more venues.  The audience seeing you on TV is one thing, but performing “live” is what it’s all about.  Please support this event and let’s keep IMT In Concert shows going!

Also, mark your calendars for June 8 ( June 9 raindate) for the Croft Farm Rockfest ’13.  We are so lucky to have friends in the right places that made it possible to acquire this venue.  This is a first for Cherry Hill to host an event like this.  We also want this to be successful, for the same reasons as above.  IMT is trying our best to open doors so talented artists have venues to show their craft.  Artists, please support other artists.  It will surely come back to you.

So please come out to our events.  Just remember, Bill always has really cool surprises at the end of the shows.  So come out and enjoy an evening of music.  If you need further info concerning the shows, go to our website below or e-mail us at the address below.  I’m happy to answer any questions.

Enjoy the weekend.  It should be beautiful! Tune in tonight at MIDNIGHT for our show, only on WMCN! As always, thanks go to our generous sponsors!

Inside Music Today March 2 Show

We are very sorry that IMT did not air this past Saturday.  The station has assured us that the show that should have aired February 23 will air this Saturday, March 2.  We do want to thank everyone who sent e-mails to WMCN.  We don’t think they have ever received so many e-mails about a program before.  We thank you for taking the time to let WMCN know how much our program means to our fans.  Thank you from all of us here at Inside Music Today!

We hope you will all tune in this week to enjoy the Flora Newberry song performed by Mike & Flora from Dr. Lou’s stage.  Also from the same evening we’re bringing you the relaxing devotional music sound of SiriOm Singh.

Then we cross the river to Center City and the Shamrock Pub for a Dr. Lou original.  On another evening we crossed the Burlington-Bristol Bridge to meet Howard Durann at Pasquale’s Bar & Restaurant and check out his Bucks County Open Mic Night.  That evening we recorded Mindless Hope and their unbelievable harmony guitar work and we have it right here for you on IMT!

On the March 9 show we’re presenting a song from our old friends The ‘Rents.  Then we travel back in time to an interview and performance from Crazy Raymond & the Watchdogs.  Don’t miss this fascinating interview from Raymond Tabano, who was a founding member of Aerosmith.  Listen and learn something about the music business.

This coming Wednesday evening, March 6, we will be back at Pasquale’s Bar & Restaurant, 9078 Mill Creek Rd., Levittown, PA with Howard Durann and his Bucks County Open Mic Night. Howard assures me he has a full night of entertainment set up.  So if you’re interested in getting out for an evening to enjoy some music and check out how we tape IMT, come on down!

We feel bad that we have made no forward progress on our first In Concert Road Show at the Shamrock Pub.  The week was spent negotiating with the TV station about the problem with the show not airing.  We will be back on track this week and have a finalized lineup and date by next week.

Again, a big thank you to all for your e-mails to WMCN.  We really appreciate the support given by all our artists, sponsors and fans.

Enjoy the weekend!

IMT’s failure to air on Saturday night 2/23

To All Artists, Fans and IMT Supporters,

We want to apologize that Inside Music Today failed to air last night.  This problem lies solely with the station that broadcasts our show, WMCN.  We spoke with our rep briefly this morning.  She will not have an explanation for this occurrence until she speaks with the techs sometime tomorrow.

We want to apologize to the artists who were featured on the program and the fans that watch faithfully.  With so many new opportunities that lie ahead for IMT, we feel this is only a temporary interruption.

During the brief conversation I had this morning with our rep,  I’ve been told the station will make this up to us by giving us a makegood date.  When I have any further information, I will send it to everyone.

In the meantime, we’d like to ask you a huge favor.

Where do YOU watch Inside Music Today? Do you enjoy the show in the comfort of your own living room or head out with friends to watch together over some wings? (We know that many IMT fans are partial to the wings at Dr. Lou’s!)

Wherever you watch our show, we’re sure you were disappointed on Saturday night when WMCN did not air our show. We were as disappointed as you were—and just as surprised. At Room Two Productions, we take our responsibility to our bands and fans very seriously. We work hard to deliver our show to the station on time every week so that when Saturday night comes along, Inside Music Today airs at midnight.

Despite our hard work, our show did not air as scheduled on Saturday, February 23. That means that our fans at home did not get to watch, and neither did the many potential fans at Dr. Lou’s.

While we’re doing our best to make sure that this doesn’t happen again, we’d like to ask for a little help from our friends, fans and bands. Please contact WMCN and let them know that you’re disappointed that they did not air the show as scheduled.

We are aware that technical difficulties happen, and we hope that WMCN will do their best to make it right. But they won’t know how many people have been impacted unless our fans tell them. We urge you to send a quick email to WMCN telling them that you missed our show this weekend.

WMCN e-mail address is: contact@wmcn.tv

Thank you for any help you can give us!

Inside Music Today February 2 Show

On this week’s show, we are bringing you four acts we have taped at Dr. Lou’s Place and one concept video.  Our concept video features Jimi Chanti and Nightspell13 recorded right in the studio.  We taped 3 Noodle Stew about a year ago at Dr. Lou’s.  Then from our recent 5-act taping at Dr. Lou’s Place, we have a new song from Angel Casiano, which I’m sure will be included on his new CD.

That same evening, Angel Casiano brought along some friends from his open mic nights.  Cory Walters hung in there all night and was our last performer to record that evening.  Thank you, Cory, for your patience because you were definitely worth the wait!  We feature one song from Cory this week, with more to come in upcoming weeks.

Earlier in the evening we recorded If All Else Fails.  They are a very talented, young band and live only a few towns down Route 130 from Room Two Studios.  Thank you, Kevin, for calling us and requesting to be a part of IMT.

Next week IMT is straying from our normal path by featuring only one band for the entire show.  The band is Half Daze and we recorded them on that same evening.  This is another young band and they certainly know where they want to go.  They had enough confidence to ask if we could devote the entire show to feature their music.  Since it seemed a good time to try something new, we are honoring their request.  So the February 9 show will feature only music written and performed by Half Daze.

This one week format change is only one aspect of the new things coming from Inside Music Today.  Much more to come in the next few months.  All things come to those who wait, but can only be accomplished one step at a time.  So hang in there for some really cool things coming our way!

Enjoy the show and enjoy your weekend!

Inside Music Today December 1 show

Our show for this week features some old friends, along with some new performers to celebrate Inside Music Today’s first year anniversary broadcasting on WMCN!  Bill & Rob headed on down to Dr. Lou’s Place on November 20th, for a special taping of The Union.  They were on our first WMCN broadcast, known then as Union Dues.  Now they have so many more new songs, plus a new name, we had to capture this new sound to celebrate and give thanks for IMT making it to this special anniversary!

To help us celebrate, Blue Heather was in attendance, along with a new performer for IMT,  Larry Saklad. I was unable to attend that taping, so I am looking forward to hearing a new performer who was there to be a part of our evening of thanks.

Rounding out the show, we’re happy to bring the Nightspell 13 video that has just been completed to coincide with the release of the CD, Carnival of Nights, which is available now on CD Baby and theorchard.com. Watch the whole show on YouTube!

The December 8 show will feature more acts from the “Give Thanks” celebration at Dr. Lou’s Place.  Performing will be Angel Casiano, who hosts the Tuesday “Open Mic” at Dr. Lou’s each week, along with more newcomers to IMT, John Monzo and Jeff LeVine.  Then we have one more song from Blue Heather.

Our next Inside Music Today taping at Dr. Lou’s Place will be on Thursday, December 6.

Anyone wishing to be a part of this taping, please call us at 856-461-4281.  We are going to be offering some new and exciting opportunities beginning in the New Year.  Any artists that would like to be involved, please call.

We are gearing up to bring you lots of new things in the new year, so hang in there and keep watching.  Things will only be getting better & better!

Remember to support our sponsors and thank them for helping to keep original music on the South Jersey airwaves. We always welcome sponsors, so if you know someone who’d like to advertise their business on our show, have them give us a call at 856-461-4281!

Inside Music Today September 1 Show

Hard to believe it is here so quickly, but this week’s show is the first of the new fall season.  In this first show, we are introducing a new segment to the program.  Each week we will try to offer a bit of information concerning the business side of the music industry in and around the Philly music scene.

In this premiere segment, Bill & Dr. Lou discuss their experience while attending a meeting of the Philadelphia Recording Community (PRC).  That interview will be continued on the September 8 show.

This week we’re featuring songs taped 2 weeks ago at Dr. Lou’s from Glenn Basham and RT Funk Band.  That was a fun night!  Then from a taping at Hebe Music a few days later,  John Cantamessa brought along The Main Street Band and what a great performance!  The same night we enjoyed Dave Weber with Donna Delany.  They sound fantastic together!  A thoroughly entertaining evening!

Watch our September 1 show on YouTube!

Next week, along with our new interview segment, each act is coming to us from a different venue.  On a beautiful August evening we caught The Trump Boyz at Hawk Island Marina in Delanco, NJ.  Then on to Dr. Lou’s Place and a new song from Dr. Lou.  In their premiere appearance on IMT, The Parachuting Apostles are performing at The World Cafe.  And how wonderful to have as our special guests this week, Danny & the Juniors!  We were lucky to catch them at a fundraiser a few years ago at The Coastline.  Thank you to Joe Terry for permission to air their performance from that evening, sounding fantastic as always!

Speaking of fundraisers, don’t forget the special fundraiser IMT will be covering on October 15.  This event is for Paul Kurrey, to support him in his battle with throat cancer.  We want to help him beat this “worst of all cancers that could affect a singer.” Not only is he ill, but this form of cancer also threatens his livelihood.  Save the date, October 15, and come on out to the Legendary Dobbs, South Street, Philly, for an unprecedented 4PM opening.  Stay until 6:30 for Happy Hour and acoustic performances.  After that, even I don’t know as yet who is in the line-up.  But I’m sure they’ll be lots of surprises during this very special evening for a very special artist.  We will definitely keep you informed as we find out more each week!

I think this is all the IMT news to date.  Don’t forget to watch us on WMCN, and tell a friend!  And if you like our show, why not thank our sponsors by supporting their businesses?  Click here to see our full list of sponsors who play a huge role in keeping local original music on TV!

Have a great Labor Day weekend and enjoy this unofficial end of summer!

Inside Music Today August 4 Show

To anyone who may have made the trip to Hollystock last Saturday, I’m sure you are still drying out as we are.  It was such a shame the weather decided to keep to the weather of the original Woodstock.  Hollystock was a wonderfully-planned event, only to be slightly spoiled by the off and on downpours all day.

We taped as much as we could, until the tents we were under could no longer hold back the deluge.  Due to the sensitivity of the cameras to water, we were forced to leave.  But our hats are off to Main Street Mt. Holly for a well-planned and well-run event.  Thanks for the memory!

On to this week’s show.  We are lucky to have another song from Tommy Conwell at the Florence Patriotic Day.  Thanks to Throddle for being his back-up band that evening.  A job well done!

We return to the Record Collector for Lisa Bouchelle & Bob Burger.  Then it’s back in time for a song from Dave Weber.  That song, only one week old, was recorded right on our couch during an interview for the original IMT.  Talk about talent!  We’re looking forward to recording Dave’s new songs in a few weeks!  Can’t wait to see him again!  Also from the early days,  we have Sic Vikki and LeCompt.  This show has quite a line-up of talent!

Enjoy the show on YouTube!

Next week we’re taking you to our day at Hollystock featuring Volt, Liquid Island and The Escape Plan, from the Hebe Music Stage, and a song from The Genies, from the Blue Light Studio Stage.  I was able to capture The Genies playing acoustically under the tent, with the audience huddling beneath.  Even though the video doesn’t show it, it was pouring all around us.  I know because the water was running down my back off the edge of the tent!  So if the video is a little rough, please understand my challenge.

I hope you all tune in and check out this week’s line-up!  Enjoy this first weekend in August!

Inside Music Today: July 21 Show

We’re right in the middle of summer, and I know after a week like this past one, I am grateful for today’s drop in temperatures.  Sure felt great!

Liquid Island at our Anniversary Show

This week we have some vintage footage of Mother Redcap & Rock Heart from the early fun days of IMT.  Great memories.  Also on this week’s show, Blue Heather & Liquid Island from the anniversary concert, plus Tommy Conwell from the Florence Patriot Day celebration.

Watch it now on YouTube!

Watching all this outdoor concert footage should put everyone in the mood to come on out to Hollystock on July 28 from noon until 9 PM.  Hope to see you there!  Steve from Mother Redcap will also be performing at Hollystock next Saturday.  We’ll be there taping at the Mill Race stage, behind Hebe Music.  We’ll be taping the Steve Oakley Band at 7:30 PM, plus some other bands throughout the day.   Drop by and see us!

Next week, when you get home from Hollystock, tune into IMT‘s return to Dr. Lou’s Place and enjoy Dr. Lou, Uncle Monster, The Poet-Lariats & Nytrous performing the second songs they each recorded that evening in June.

IMT is beginning to book for future TV tapings at both Dr. Lou’s Place and Hebe Music.

If anyone who receives this blast has not yet performed on the show, give us a call and set up a taping date.

You’ve already appeared on IMT?  You have new original songs?  This is the place where they can be heard.  Please spread the word to other musicians and singers you know.  This show is your venue to have your original music showcased.  Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!  Our audience is waiting to hear what you’ve got!

Our generous sponsors keep IMT on the air.  Don’t forget to mention IMT when you patronize their businesses!  Click through to see our full sponsor list.

Everyone take care and enjoy the upcoming weekend!
